Black History Museum of Virginia

The Museum is an adaptive reuse of the Leigh Street Armory, originally constructed in 1895 and once home to Virginia’s African American militia. Emerge Construction Group renovated the 6,500-SF existing building and added an additional 5,500-SF for main entry and support space. The result is a modern design that incorporates the buildings historic attributes, including exhibition galleries, interactive galleries and community gathering spaces as well as support spaces for administration and collections storage.

Overbrook Loft Apartments --  Phase II

The Overbrook Lofts II, LLC plans to renovate the 1650 Overbrook Road into four enlarged commercial spaces. Phase I of the Overbrook Project renovated one of the buildings into luxury apartment community The Cooperage. Phase II of the restoration project will transform the approximately 60,000 Square Feet building into 55 apartment units.

Clay Suites LLC plans to renovate the 3117 W Clay St into four enlarged commercial spaces.  The restoration will transform the approximately 12,243 Square Foot building into four commercial offices spaces.
The entire first floor (Suite A) is currently undergoing tenant improvements to convert the space into medical offices for Village MD, a company specializing in providing Primary Care. 

Another suite has been leased by Byrne Legal Group, and is now undergoing renovations to meet the tenant's specifications for office space.

Alley RVA LLC plans to renovate 10 Walnut Alley and transform the approximately 12,946 Square Foot building into 17 apartment units.
